How To Install Windows 7 & 10
HOW TO INSTALL WINDOWS 7 & 10 AND REFLECTION
Step 1: Open VirtualBox
-Launch Oracle VM VirtualBox.
Step 2: Create a New Virtual Machine
-Click on the "New" button in the toolbar.
-Enter a name for your virtual machine (e.g., "Windows 7" or "Windows 10").
Select the type:
-For Windows 7, choose "Microsoft Windows" and version "Windows 7 (64-bit)" or "Windows 7 (32-bit)" depending on your ISO.
-For Windows 10, choose "Microsoft Windows" and version "Windows 10 (64-bit)" or "Windows 10 (32-bit)".
-Click "Next".
Step 3: Allocate Memory (RAM)
-Choose the amount of RAM to allocate to the virtual machine. A minimum of 2 GB (2048 MB) is recommended for Windows 7, and at least 4 GB (4096 MB) for Windows 10. Ensure you do not allocate more than half of your host machine's RAM.
Step 4: Create a Virtual Hard Disk
-Select "Create a virtual hard disk now" and click "Create".
-Choose the hard disk file type. The default option (VDI - VirtualBox Disk Image) is usually fine. Click "Next".
-Choose whether you want the storage to be dynamically allocated or fixed size. Dynamically allocated will grow as you use it, while fixed size will allocate the full amount immediately.
-Set the size of the virtual hard disk. A minimum of 20 GB is recommended for Windows 7 and at least 30 GB for Windows 10. Click "Create".
Step 5: Configure Virtual Machine Settings (Optional)
-Select your newly created VM and click on "Settings".
-Under "System", you can adjust the boot order and enable/disable hardware virtualization (VT-x/AMD-V).
-Under "Display", you can increase the video memory and enable 3D acceleration if needed.
-Under "Storage", click on the empty CD icon under "Controller: IDE", then click on the CD icon on the right side and select "Choose a disk file..." to load your Windows ISO file.
Step 6: Start the Virtual Machine
-Select your virtual machine and click on the "Start" button.
-The VM will boot from the ISO file. Follow the on-screen instructions to install Windows.
-Choose your language, time, and keyboard preferences, then click "Next".
-Click on "Install now" and follow the prompts to complete the installation.
Step 7: Install VirtualBox Guest Additions (Optional but Recommended)
-After Windows is installed, you can install VirtualBox Guest Additions for better performance and usability.
-With the VM running, go to the "Devices" menu in the VirtualBox window and select "Insert Guest Additions CD image...".
-Follow the installation prompts within the Windows VM.
REFLECTION
- This was a good experience for me because in junior high I was ICT student but they don't teach this activity. That's why i'm thankful I experience this activity.
